It's long been rumored that Marvel is looking to reboot Daredevil and The Punisher as official MCU shows, and now that's been confirmed for at least one of the two: Daredevil will officially be rebooted, and is set to enter production soon.

Obviously the elephant in the room is, whether or not the actors will return. In Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal, we got the perfect casting for both Daredevil and The Punisher, and fans don't want either of the actors to be replaced. For now, though, there is no word on any of the actors, but seeing how Charlie Cox made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is unlikely that Marvel would choose to replace him now. After all, the point of this reboot is to tie the shows into the MCU, so why introduce someone you're planning to remove? It would only confuse audiences.

Still, it's interesting that Marvel chooses to reboot these shows at all, since I don't think that there was any problem with tying them into the MCU in the first place: The storylines fit perfectly, and all of the major roles were perfectly cast. Sure, no one cares about Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and the Defenders, but Daredevil and The Punisher? That stuff was fine, and I can hardly imagine any reboot doing a better job. Still... I'm not gonna be mad if I end up being surprised.
