Twisted Metal is a pretty old game, but it's getting a reboot in the form of a television series!
A long forgotten game series Twisted Metal is getting a live-action television series, following in the footsteps of the Uncharted film just released, as well as the Halo television series. Video games are being turned into shows left, right and centre these days.
The show was loosely announced a while ago, all the way back in September 2021, but now we’ve got some more details, so let’s just right into everything we know.
What is the Premise of Twisted Metal?
The premise of the show and game will be around the main character, who is a milkman with no recollection of his past. He will have to transport a package across a post apocalyptic wasteland in hopes of getting an opportunity at a better life.
That’s the basic premise of the show, and we can’t wait to see what this action-comedy will hold in store for those who are a can of Twisted Metal. Twisted Metal was released 10 years ago on the PlayStation 3, but it’s been even longer since an iteration of the games were available on PC — that was all the way back in 1996.
Who Will Star in Twisted Metal?
One star is already known to have signed onto the project, and that is none other than Anthony Mackie. According to Deadline, he is also an executive producer on the show along with Will Arnett, Marc Forman and Cobra Kai writer Michael Jonathan Smith.
The Winter Soldier star will likely play the hero of the vehicular combat thriller, so we will be seeing a lot of him on the screen when the show actually airs on streaming services.
On Which Streaming Service can you Watch Twisted Metal?
It seems like the American streaming service Peacock will be the ones to stream this show once it airs. Shows like Below Deck and Bates Motel are already available on the service, but it seems like they’re spreading their feathers and working on some original content as well.
When Will Twisted Metal Release?
A release date is also not yet known. So far we only know that the show is really happening, that a big star is part of it and that a few well known names are part of the production staff. The show will likely be released later in 2022 or early 2023.
