Are you guys ready for some insane television and films in the coming years? For the longest time now, Marvel has held the torch of comic book universe, but it seems that with the introduction of James Gunn as co-CEO of DC Studios.
In his DC Slate announcement, Gunn revealed plans for a multitude of live-action, as well as animated shows that will represent DC going forward.
Superman Legacy: Release Date Revealed
In the statement revealing the next few years DC has to offer to fans, Gunn made the announcement of the next Superman movie. Now we know that it won't be Henry Cavill playing Superman, but someone new.
Unfortunately, who will be replacing Cavill was not announced, but we can expect the film to be released July 11, 2025. Gunn did state that this would be the "true beginning of the DCU" so this would be a huge film in the making, with him writing the film.

DCU Looking To Stay Consistent
One big thing Gunn mentioned in the video was that they are looking to keep the DCU consistent, something that hasn't been the case thus far. This means that actors will stay true to their roles throughout their time in the DCU.
Not only does this pertain to live-action, but also animation as well. So if a character from one live-action film has a cameo in a television series or an animated series, expect the same face and voice.
DCU Turned Into Chapters
Gunn explained that they've got multiple chapters planned for the DC Universe. The first part of Chapter 1 is called "Gods and Monsters" which will encompass a multitude of interesting projects.
