The new Dungeons & Dragons film, Honor Among Thieves, has finally got a trailer. It's a star-studded cast, and we're sure fans won't be disappointed. Let's take a look!
Dungeons & Dragons is probably the most criminally underserved franchise in the world of film and TV. Sure, we had the cartoon series in the 80s, and the terrible b-list film in the 90s, but we've had nothing that lives up to what DnD deserves. After Tolkien, it's probably the single-largest fantasy franchise out there. Sure, you could argue that it's a game for creating stories, and it doesn't inherently contain one itself. But that's hogwash, what about an adaption of R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels? Or even a miniseries dedicated to Strahd? So far we've had nothing!
Thankfully that's changing, a blockbuster Dungeons & Dragons film has been in production for a number of years, and now we're approaching release. It looks like the perfect blend of high-fantasy cheese and chaotic tabletop antics. Check out the trailer here!
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves — Trailer
Let's cut to the chase, a Dungeons & Dragons movie has been in the works for years now, and as it's finally approaching release, we've just received a trailer. Check it out below, and you'll get a sense for the production values and tone:
There are lots of overt references to the tabletop game, which fans are sure to relish. But we do also see a druid wildshape into an Owlbear (which is a monster and not a beast per the 5e Monster Manual), so there will be purists who take issue with a few of the inaccuracies. Pedantic issues aside, it looks like this film will strike the right balance between roguish humor and sincere adventure. And the best part, you won't need to wait long to watch Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, as it's coming very soon.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves — Release Date
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be released in US cinemas on March 3, 2023, with a full international release to follow. So as we said, not long to wait at all, then you can watch this production for yourself. Will it hit the heady highs of LotR: Rings of Power? Or is it going to fall short like the Halo TV show?
