The Jujutsu Kaisen Anime has been a great success for Crunchyroll, with fans all over the globe enjoying the world of Jujutsu sorcerers, curses, and the compelling story that Gege Akutami has created. With Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 we get a small glimpse into one of the most important incidents that happened prior to the main story taking place, the Plasma Vessel Arc.

But what is the Plasma Vessel? Why is it so important? Let's take a look, here's the Plasma Vessel explained.

The Plasma Vessel & Its Role In Jujutsu Kaisen Explained

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 is finally happening, with weekly releases covering two arcs of the Manga, the Star Plasma Vessel Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc.

The first one is a little deep dive into the past, where Gojo Satoru and his friend Suguru Getou have to protect a high school girl from a bunch of ´sorcerer hitman. But why is this girl so important?

The answer to that question is quite simple, but also not simple at all. That girl, Riko Amanai is none other than the Star Plasma Vessel that is desperately needed to ensure the safety of the Jujutsu world.

That is, because that poor high school girl is destined to merge with the immortal jujutsu sorcerer Master Tengen, who protects not only Jujutsu High, but many more locations with his barrier techniques.

A new Star Plasma Vessel is born every 500 years, always as a woman, and has to sacrifice itself to stop Tengen's aging.

This process is pretty much a death sentence, because the vessel becomes a part of the immortal jujutsu sorcerer, losing her individuality.

If Master Tengen doesn't merge with the Star Plasma Vessel, though, he will not be able to maintain his human form and will continue to evolve in unpredictable ways. This could lead to him losing control of his immense power, potentially turning into a curse, just like Sukuna did in the Heian Era.

If you need any more explanation why that would be bad, you should just rewatch season 1 (or read the manga )!

I know another Season 2 you all are probably dying to release right now:
