Rumors have surfaced that Tobey Maguire will pick up the suit once more for his own Spider-Man 4 sequel.
After the success, Spider-Man: No Way Home had bringing back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, it seems like we might finally get Spider-Man 4. One of the cast members for the original trilogy recently explained that he heard rumors about Sam Raimi working on another Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire.
Tobey Maguire was the first actor to bring Spider-Man to life, with his live-action portrayal in Sam Raimi's trilogy (2002-2007). With his heartfelt depiction of Peter Parker's coming-of-age journey, his movies had a nice mix of authenticity, humor, and angst.
Even though the movies are almost 20 years old now, his performance lives on through memes and Maguire's Spider-Man remains simply iconic.
Spider-Man 4 With Tobey Maguire In The Works According To Cast Member Of The Original Trilogy
Thomas Haden Church is best known for his portrayal of The Sandman in Spider-Man 3, as well as No Way Home. He really managed to make me feel bad for a bunch of sand, and continues to play with my emotions by getting me hyped for Spider-Man 4.
In an interview with ComicBook, Church was asked about a potential sequel to the original Spider-Man movies.
There’s always been some kind of… I’ve heard rumors… that Sam Raimi was going to do another [Spider-Man movie] with Tobey [Maguire] and if that happens, I would probably campaign to maybe at least do a cameo,
This doesn't necessarily come as a surprise, as Raimi previously stated that he would be interested in expanding the original trilogy if possible. The only thing holding them back is whether Marvel would want that.
Still, these are rumors and Marvel already have multiple iterations of The Friendly Neighborhood Spider, so it might be a little far-fetched to expect them to work on another one.
