The Boys season 4 is close to production and Simon Pegg spilled the beans on what to expect.
The Boys has been nothing short of a slaughterhouse till now. The more realistic and bleak take on what Superhumans would be like (absolute psychos) was a breath of fresh air, emphasizing how over saturated the industry is right now thanks to Marvel and DC.
Now, fans are eagerly waiting for The Boys season 4 and boy do we have some news for you. Just like in the last couple of seasons, they will try to turn things up a notch on the crazy scale according to Simon Pegg, who will be involved in the project.
- If you haven't checked out The Boys yet, you definitely should! There are also a bunch of other great shows on Amazon Prime Video, so what are you waiting for? Netflix's sh*t now anyway.
For those of you who need a quick recap on what The Boys is all about: It's a TV series based on a comic book that is big on subverting superhero tropes.
The story is all about a group of vigilantes fighting against corrupt superheroes, who, contrary to public perception, are arrogant and abusive. The show blends a lot of dark humor with graphic violence, critiquing the commercialization and deification of super-powered beings.
The Boys Season 4 Will Be Crazier Than Ever Before
In an interview with Collider, Simon Pegg (who plays Hughie's father, if you don't remember), opened up about what people can expect from The Boys season 4.
During the interview, Pegg revealed that not only will he be featured in 4 episodes, but he also tried to hype up fans by saying that the show will only “get crazier” with season 4.
Collider truly gets all the interviews on that topic, as they even had Karl Urban on the line, telling them that they will soon start filming for The Boys season 4.
Yeah, we're starting I think August the 22nd, we're going to be starting season four. So I’m getting back, getting my Butcher back on, and I can’t wait. It’s a fun gang to play with, we work hard and play hard, and I can’t wait to see where they take the characters from where we leave them at the end of this season.
We all know what Billy Butcher considers fun, so this will probably turn into a next level slug-fest with many dead Sups, graphic violence and dark humor. Nice!
- If you like dark and depressing, you should check out Diablo IV .
Billy Butcher would probably support the message of this video, and so do you (probably) if you've played any of these games:
