As a short recap, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, who split in 2016, engaged in a defamation trial over an op-ed Heard wrote for The Washington Post in 2018, where she described surviving domestic violence without specifically naming Depp.
This lead to a viral court case, where the both actor's personal life and relationship was put under scrutiny, with both parties accusing each other of emotional and physical abuse.
In the end, the jury found that Depp had been defamed in the op-ed, handing him a legal victory. The contentious legal battle concluded after approximately 14 hours of jury deliberations.
