The Last of Us is coming to HBO, and the wait couldn't feel longer. After we could already see the first moving footage some time ago, even more scenes have been leaked now.
The Last of Us on HBO comes with heavy expectations: The game is already a narrative masterpiece, and after the Uncharted movie wasn't all that, this one has some making up to do. Lead actor Pedro Pascal is convinced that the show will be great, but other than his word and one single image of Ellie and Joel, we didn't have much to go on.
That's all changing right now, as we get more and more moving footage of Joel and Ellie from the set of the HBO show.
[Update] New The Last of Us Footage Leaked Online
Let's not beat around the bush, what new material has seen the light of day? Well, this time around we have a couple of new info – including videos, pictures, and even a soundbite of Jeffery Pierce talking about his new character Perry.
"Perry is brand new, and part of a brand-new branch that has huge implications for things that did occur in the game. And, so, that's exciting, because it will unveil things that attach to the game and you'll be like 'Oh s**t! That all makes even more sense now! You gotta run from Clickers or towards Clickers or from Fedra or towards Fedra."
While this sounds intriguing already, it's just so much more fun to see footage of the characters from The Last of Us rather than just hearing their voices. Suit yourself, the following is the clip we're talking about:

Pretty exciting, eh? Well, I guess you don't want us to explain what can be seen in the video, right? Just one thing... we can hear the crowd scream “Freedom” and "F*ck Fedra" which would point towards the events prior to The Last of Us. However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and we'll probably have to wait awhile until that finally happens.
First The Last of Us Film Footage
So just hours ago, set pictures leaked that show off Joel, Ellie and more. The pictures come from the current Calgary set, and now we can do you one better because we have moving footage. To be quite exact, the footage is from Calgary, and it shows Joel, Ellie, Sam, and Henry:

That's all we got for a first look, but it already looks promising. The inclusion of Sam and Henry lets us know that the show really is faithful, so that's a big win for now. On the sadder side of things, though, we still don't have a release date. It's confirmed that the show will not release this year, and, in fact, many think it might not even air in 2023, though 2023 is what HBO is aiming for - and if you don't want to believe me, here's a quote from the showrunner himself.
It's not going to air in 2022 - they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in '23. I have seen some early episodes and I'm very excited. [...] Craig [Mazin] did Chernobyl for us, he is a fantastic writer and director. What I've seen looks amazing, so I'm excited for it, but it will not be in '22.
