Ah, Young Royals. One of the few great examples of a gay coming-of-age story. And together with Heartstopper, it might be the best one on Netflix so far. The main protagonists Prince Wilhelm and Simon, an ordinary boy, who also visits the prestige school Hillerska Boarding, fall in love with each other. Although Wilhelm grew up as a rich prince and Simon comes from a normal middle-class family, they have a lot in common and overcome all obstacles despite public pressure.

Young Royals Season 3 Release Window

In this trailer, Netflix confirmed that Young Royals 3 will be released on March 11 for episode 1-5. A week later, we can take a look at the final episode of the series on March 18.

Young Royals Season 3 Plot: What Can We Expect?
Since Netflix confirmed that Season 3 of Young Royals is going to be the last one, we can definitely expect an end to the love story of our favorite boys. And since we also got a small glimpse on some scenes, the last season will be flooded with romantic moments. Check it out, below:

After Wilhelm confessed his love for Simon during the speech for the school anniversary, Simon and Wilhelm finally got together at the end of Season 2. Now, it's going to be fascinating to see, how they and their families handle all the public pressure they're exposed to.
It's also going to be thrilling to witness the ongoing relation between Wilhelm and his cousin August, who was supposed to be the heir to the throne after Wilhelm's deceased brother Erik. August is something of an antagonist for the show, and so we can expect more villainy from him.
On top of that, Sara, Simon's sister who often looks out for him, decided to quit the school at the end of the last episode of Season 2. Leaving with her suitcase, she calls the police in the bus, reporting August's crimes, as he secretly filmed Wilhelm and Simon having sex and published the video online, damaging both of their reputations.
Young Royals Season 3 Cast
Obviously, Edvin Ryding as Prince Wilhelm and Omar Rudberg as Simon will return in the last season. We can also expect Malte Gårdinger coming back as August, the worst cousin in the history of Netflix Originals, since there are many questions unanswered about him. Another shareholder of the main-cast who will for sure come back, is Frida Argento playing as Sara, Simon's sister.
In the trailer, we also saw a short scene of Pernilla August reprising her role as queen Kristinaand mother of Prince Wilhelm. And, since Nikita Uglla as Felice was part of the main actors in previous seasons, we can also expect her to return, especially if we take a look at some of the published scenes.
