Lady Whistledown is back and, who would've thought? She's got her own drama this time! Bridgerton's third season has finally hit Netflix but, dearest readers, there's a catch: it releases in two parts. We've got all the info for you, including when the rest of the season comes out and everything else you need to know about the show.
Ah, young love. And scandals. And bachelors and a rollercoaster of emotions if there ever was one: that's Bridgerton in a nutshell. Oh, and don't forget the amazing music the show offers! This Netflix sensation (along with its spin-off, Queen Charlotte) resonated deeply with audiences worldwide, leaving them yearning for another season. And they won't be disappointed!
Inspired by the novels by Julia Quinn and brought to the screen by the dynamic duo of Chris Van Dusen and Shonda Rhimes, Bridgerton weaves together the passion, scandals, and most importantly, the romances of the Bridgerton family. A glimpse into the high society of 19th-century London — what could be better?
Well, how about more episodes of the beloved British drama? So brace yourselves, here's a comprehensive overview of everything we know about Bridgerton's eagerly awaited season 3, including the release date leak drama, the possible cast, plot and more!
Bridgerton Season 3 Releases In Two Parts: Here Are The Dates
The release date of Bridgerton's third season was a whirlwind of emotions, just like the show itself: there were leaks that were a total bust, rumors galore but in the end, Netflix is the only reliable source.
Netflix announced in December 2023 that Bridgerton Season 3 would release in two parts (seems to be Netflix' shtick lately, doesn't it?). Anyway: part 1 will released on May 16, 2024 with part 2 following on June 13, 2024. Have a little sneak peek:

At that pace, the planned eight-season long Bridgerton run will finish up in around 11 years. If you don't have it in you to wait that long, I've got the books for you further down.
Bridgerton Season 3 Will Revolve Around Colin And Penelope
I'm going to assume you're up-to-date with the show if you ended up here, but just in case you're not: spoiler warning!
Penelope's crush on Colin Bridgerton hasn't been subtle exactly, but Colin remains oblivious and has other plans. Penelope ends up broken-hearted at the end of season 2, losing both her crush and best friend Eloise.
There's only one thing left for her for the time being: continuing as Lady Whistledown, the OG Gossip Girl of the 19th century. How she'll handle the rejection and her scandalous society newsletter from there on will surely play a huge part in season 3.
Interestingly enough, the Penelope-Colin-situation happens earlier in the show than in the books. The show has been adapting one book per season which would have left the upcoming story for season 4, but no: book 4, Romancing Mister Bridgerton , will be season 3 of the show.
Bridgerton Season 3: Returning Cast And Exits
With the story's structure, it's kind of inevitable that some beloved characters and cast members will be featured less until they're gone for good. That's what happens with Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) as she won't be in season 3, according to Screenrant.
Her character has been less present in season 2 already, following the absence of Simon Basset (played by Rége-Jean Page) who left the show after season 1. That's something to live with in the Bridgerton universe: each season focuses on one of the siblings. Edwina (Charithra Chandran) also won't be returning.
The exits have been handled smoothly, though, and there are still other beloved characters to look forward to. Here's the list of the remaining main cast:
- Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington
- Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton
- Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton
- Luke Thompson as Benedict Bridgerton
- Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton
- Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma
- Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury
- Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte
And of course, Julie Andrews is still the voice of Lady Whistledown.
Liked Bridgerton? Here Are The Books And Other Shows To Check Out
The books might be worth a look if you're not up for waiting a whole decade until Netflix finishes up the adaptation.
To test out the waters, here's the first book following Daphne's story for not even ten bucks. That's a super easy way to check out if the books are even your cup of tea.
If you're not ready to commit to the entire series consisting of eight books, but still want to save some money and get the books that are still waiting to be adapted by Netflix, here's the boxed set with the first four books – and yes, that includes the story of season 3.
And last but not least: for super-fans, here's the complete collection : 9 books for not even $70. That's the eight books of the eight Bridgerton children with the bonus “The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After”, which is basically a second epilogue for all of them.
