EA Sports has shocked the FIFA and EA FC community with the new gameplay trailer. Alongside the new Hypermotion V Technology (the "V" stands for Volumetric) and an updated Frostbite Engine, they introduced new skill moves, running styles, and playstyles.

The latest football simulation game is always claimed to be the best game ever with more innovations than ever before. But who can blame them? That's what they have to say.

EA FC 24 Is Redefining The Meta

The gameplay deep dive this year has focused heavily on the new playstyles and running styles. While that's exciting news, we have learned relatively little about the actual gameplay. But there's still more to come.

Playstyles have been in FIFA for a long time, and you might be more familiar with them under the name "Traits." The traits have now received an upgrade, incorporating real-life data to convert them into playstyles.

Each playstyle can be seen as its own signature move and comes with its own unique animation.

Sports games continue to move in this direction: "It's all about them animations." You can also observe the same trend in Madden NFL 24.

The best players in the game stand out due to their perks and playstyles, as they animate much better and can influence the game in your favor.

Therefore, the meta will clearly evolve based on the following criteria: Pace, Skills, Weak Foot, Running Style, Playstyle, and Body Type.

Playstyles In EA FC 24 Explained

The gameplay trailer provides a detailed demonstration of the playstyles. They are differentiated between "Playstyle" and "Playstyle+".

Playstyle+ makes the difference between a good player and a world-class player. The badge for the playstyle is highlighted in gold.

The playstyles are available in all game modes, including Ultimate Team, Career Mode, and Clubs.

In Ultimate Team, the playstyles are included by default on a card, while in Career Mode and Clubs, you have to earn the traits. You can now also upgrade the playstyles in Ultimate Team with the introduction of the new feature called "Evolutions."

It remains to be seen which playstyles will prove to be the best. However, from the scenes in the gameplay trailer, we can already say that the new Powershot will be incredibly powerful due to the drastic reduction in charging time when combined with the corresponding playstyle.

Rapid also looks very dangerous, as the player suddenly gains speed out of nowhere once the playstyle is activated. And we all know how important pace is in FIFA / EA FC 24.

For defenders, "Stop Ball Tackle" was introduced in the trailer. The best defenders can make a slide tackle while initiating a counterattack. The animation for this move looks absolutely amazing.

"Block" will be similarly impactful. Do you remember FIFA 21, where every shot was automatically blocked by the AI? Hopefully, that won't happen again in EA FC 24...
