For a few days now, the FIFA community has been criticizing the FIFA online modes. But what is the cause of the lags and delays in FIFA 22? We'll show you what's going on right now!
Usually, the answer to that question is simple – the EA servers. They are the breed of pure evil. But this time, it's different. As it becomes clear on Reddit, the problem is not necessarily linked to the embarrassing server structure at EA, but to the game itself. So despite a good internet connection, you probably have to deal with lags. But that's not even the only problem.
What makes the majority of the community rage the most: the input delay. Many complain that their players are taking far too long to pass, shoot or just to control the ball. What can be the reason behind that? Quite simply – your opponent. Oh yes, it's finally becoming personal.
Lags and Delays in FIFA 22 – That's the problem(s)
Of course, you should check your internet connection before you are crying online. If your connection sucks, nothing will work. So, if it's not because of your internet, then it could be because of FIFA's so-called lag compensation. This feature corrects the ping difference between two players as much as possible. And this happens at the expense of the player with the better internet. That sounds insane and unfair at first, but in the end, it only makes a small difference. If it would really punish people with fast internet that much... Boy, I'd be smashing in every damn mode.
So if you're already prepared for a crusade against Momentum 2.0 – calm down. In the end, the real problem might be the game itself. While the community's complaints are related to the online modes only, it doesn't have to be internet related. Many expect a fix in the next update, but that can also take a little longer.
The EA servers are of course never innocent when it comes to lags or delays in Ultimate Team. The servers have been down for a short on several occasions since the release. If that happens again, we'll keep you up to date in this article. The only question is – when will EA get this problem under control? It feels like we've been playing on the same servers for 10 years. In the meantime, however, there are a thousand times more players in FUT. Maybe the publisher is investing in a new server structure for FIFA 23. With the money he saves by losing the FIFA naming license, something nice could be done. But what am I writing there? EA Sports and investments that could improve something? Where are we? Or as Taylor Swift would say: We are never ever, ever getting... anything better.
