In FIFA 22 we've just got a new SBC for Ultimate Team: the Prime Icon Upgrade Challenge. But is the SBC worth it? And how many coins do you have to spend? Let's have a look...
FUT Birthday Event here (Happy Birthday, Ultimate Team!), Icon Moments Release there – the FIFA 22 content is currently going through the roof. By the way, Man of the Match cards are dropped every now and then as well... even if most of them are not really playable.
Somewhere in all this turmoil, a new SBC has been released recently. With the Prime Icon upgrade, you can get your hands on some of those tasty Prime Icons – which to be honest should be obvious considering its name. Is it worth it, though? Let's check it out!
Prime Icon Upgrade SBC Summary
Probs, EA Sports, at first glance it seems like the price for the Prime Icon Upgrade Challenge is pretty fair. In FIFA 22 there were already SBCs you should have stayed away from more than five feet... here you go, a small overview of the single steps:
Teams | Price Range | Rewards |
84-Rated Squad | 44K-46K | Prime Electrum Players Pack |
85-Rated Squad | 87K-91K | Premium Mixed Players Pack |
85-Rated Squad | 95K-97K | Prime Mixed Players Pack |
86-Rated Squad | 132K-139K | Rare Mixed Players Pack |
Completed Challenge | 362-367K | Prime Icon Upgrade Pack |
All in all, you'll have to spend about 360K coins to complete the four required teams, which is bearable at this time in the FIFA cycle. For comparison, the first Icon SBC in FIFA 22 also cost about that many coins. We don't really want to think about that, though... back then, if you completed the challenge, you got ripped off 99% of the time. Well, let's stay positive, shall we?
Is The Prime Icon Upgrade SBC In FIFA 22 Worth It?
To be able to answer this question honestly, we must take a look at which icons are actually still worth more than the SBC first. On top of that, in the following table we have highlighted the players that are currently still worth more than one million coins. Yes, that's called service. And we do this only for you!

If you take a closer look at the long list of all 105 Icons in FIFA 22, you currently make a profit with 43 of them – 17 of these legends are still worth more than one million coins on the transfer market and are therefore a fantastic deal. With the remaining 62 icons you lose some amount of your coins... the fact that the SBC is not a player pick, the chances aren't too great. Too bad...
