Steven Gerrard is the new head coach of Aston Villa. Can the former Liverpool captain be the savior of the club from East Birmingham? We show you his possible line up in FIFA 22!
He's coming home! Well, actually... He's not quite home yet, but I think he'll get there very soon. For now, I am happy to tell you that Steven Gerrard makes his comeback in English football. After 3 seasons in the Scottish Premiership, the former Liverpoolian is taking the next step in his career and takes over the lead at Aston Villa. As head coach of the Glasgow Rangers, he really smashed the competition: 124 wins in 192 games, last season, the Rangers even secured the title – unbeaten! Gerrard and his lads ended the boring dominance of their eternal rivals Celtic... Or as the Rangers would sing: "Hey, yeah you, with the sad face, come up to my place and live it up!"
But how will his work look in the Premier League? We all know that you can't really compare the Premiership with the highest tier of English football, so it will be a real challenge for Gerrard. On the one side, his announcement as head coach for Aston Villa is very exciting for us fans, on the other side, it's also a bit risky... Switching clubs during a season is a pretty bold move. But Aston Villa has potential and the right player material to make the turn around in the league. Let's take a look at the possible line up from Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa in FIFA 22!
We already wrote about Xavi at Barcelona... Who's gonna make it better?

Steven Gerrard At Aston Villa: Possible Line Up In FIFA 22
During his time at Glasgow, Gerrard had two favorite formations: 4-2-3-1 and a more offensive 4-3-3. Since former Aston Villa coach Dean Smith didn't succeed with his 4-2-3-1 variation, I guess, that Gerrard will go with the 4-3-3. Especially with Leon Bailey, he has some power on the right wing, Anwar El Ghazi and Ollie Watkins could be an option for the left side. Their speed is predestined to mix things up.
Danny Ings will be the goalgetter of the new Aston Villa. The 29-year-old already scored 3 goals and made two assists. Since the Glasgow Rangers outscored their opponents last season (78 goals in 33 games), we can expect some more action in Aston Villa's offensive line. In addition, Gerrard will focus on the back four. While only conceding 10 goals last season, his defensive play style might be crucial as well.
If you want to dive into Aston Villa as well, I recommend you the OTW cards of Leon Bailey and Danny Ings... Who knows, maybe Gerrard starts a winnings streak and their OTW's rise through the roof?
This is how Aston Villa's line up could look like under Steven Gerrard:
Well, this all might sound nice and fancy, but we all know, that it takes a lot more than just a change of system. Steven Gerrard will need some time to drill his players, to implement his philosophy into the squad. But he is aware of the risk, and I am sure he will do a good job. And who knows... This is probably another step towards his future as Liverpool coach. We all wish for that. If that happens, Slippy Gerrard could strike again and end this hype about Liverpool. Thanks.
