The best and most exciting duels of the past World Cup have been further fueled with Showdown SBCs in FIFA 23. These matches featured some of the best players in the world and even World Cup Phenoms. But what are these cards actually good for?

FIFA 23 WC Showdown SBCs – How They Work!

Over the period of the World Cup, we have seen quite a bit of content. For example, the new World Cup Showdown SBCs. One player of each nation was selected and received a Squad Building Challenge in FIFA 23. These SBCs were available until the kick-off of their matches at the latest. But why should you complete them?

WC Showdown SBC Upgrades

Besides the usual upgrades that Showdown players get, they can also collect other boosts. The player from the winning nation will get an OVR upgrade of +2. If a match ends in a draw, both players will get a +1 upgrade and the player who loses will simply keep the rating of the initial SBC.

So when deciding whether you should complete an SBC, the national team's chances of winning play a crucial role. Most recently, it was the duels in the semi-finals: Morocco against France and Argentina against Croatia. Youssouf Fofana and Enzo Fernández were able to secure the upgrades, both cards look really nice, you should definitely try them out.

World Cup Final Showdown SBC: Argentina vs. France

On Sunday, the time had come: Argentina met France in the 2022 World Cup Final. The two players EA Sports have selected for us to choose from were Angel Correa and Dayot Upamecano, who both started off with a base rating of 87.

As we now know, Argentina have won it all and Correa got his upgrade to 89.

World Cup Match for 3rd Place Showdown SBC

Croatia faced Morocco in the 3rd place match. Again, there's a showdown in FUT, but it's nowhere near as exciting as the final. Mislav Oršić vs. Nayef Aguerd, that really doesn't sound exciting. Oršić's stats look nice, but how do you link the Croatian league?

However, Oršić has received his upgrade to 89 and looks even better now.
