The new FIFA World Cup mode in FIFA 23 is live. Obviously, this is where you are going to fight for a right to lift the World Cup trophy. And of course, some teams are better suited than others, because the current meta plays a key role, just like in Ultimate Team.
Best National Teams in FIFA 23 To Win The World Cup
In 2022, as with every World Cup, there are some favourites going into the tournament. This year, these certainly include nations such as Argentina, France, Brazil or even Germany (editor's note: and your sleeper pick – Canada). Or who else could win the World Cup? Have you made your choice yet?
These nations might be insane in Qatar, but aren’t necessarily the best in FIFA 23. We’ll show you our favorites for the new World Cup mode:
Brazil
The Seleção lives up to its reputation. Lots of 5* skillers, combined with enough pace, that’s what we all love about Brazil. And the defense is solid as well. 90-rated Casemiro as the central midfielder, behind him are Marquinhos and Eder Militão while Alisson Becker will be the final line of defense as the keeper. Only the left and right back are on the weak side. With Alex Sandro and Danilo there is still potential though.
England
The European Championship finalists will also travel to the World Cup in Qatar with a strong squad. The strikers are particularly strong. Harry Kane, Englands best striker, is flanked by Raheem Sterling on the left and Phil Foden on the right. A 90-rating, paired with 5* weak foot, looks pretty sexy after all. In addition, Kane is one of the strikers who has the running style Lengthy and thus is absolutely meta.
Good midfield and defense complete the squad. The biggest problem the English have, is their goalkeeper. The Best English keeper remains Jordan Pickford, with an 84 rating. If you are in need of some decent substitute players, then you'll want, Jadon Sancho and Tammy Abraham (also Lengthy) on the bench.
France
The squad of the reigning world champion is getting better and better. The team of Didier Deshamps doesn't have any real weaknesses, as long as the injured Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté remain part of the team.
Kylian Mbappé and Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema are the two best players on the team, but to be honest, we can't complain about the rest of the team either. With Raphaël Varane and Presnel Kimpembe, your central defenders are prepared for anything and on the wing, Kingsley Coman and Theo Hernández are two solid back-ups. So you can’t go wrong with France.
