Imagine you have the best card in FUT, you're a cover star and everyone wants to pick you in a pack – and yet you don't play the game (anymore). That's what happened with Kylian Mbappé. FUT Champions is just too exhausting for the French superstar.
It's a well-known fact that many football players like to do a bit of gaming in their free time. Whether it's the legendary Fortnite careers of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner or Mesut Özil's eSports team – to name just two examples.
I mean, what else is there to do all day between training sessions? Kylian Mbappé might be able to answer that question if you ever meet him. In the meantime, the 24-year-old has crossed FUT Champions off his list of hobbies.
Mbappé Can't Handle The Weekend League: "I stopped playing FUT Champs".
That's right, the cover star of FIFA 23 doesn't play FUT Champions anymore. At EA, this might not exactly be cause for celebration, but it is definitely an understandable move by the two-times World Cup finalist.
If he would still play, he would probably own us all with his own TOTY card.
Back in FIFA 22 days, he was asked about his FUT Champs career in a stream by French Esports player Corentin 'Gotaga' Houssein. In response, Mbappé simply says, "I stopped playing FUT Champs." When asked if it was due to time constraints, he laughingly says, "No, it affected my morale, it weighs me down.".

Or to put it another way: Even Mbappé is broken in the Weekend League. It's a funny story that the player who showed more than nerves of steel in the World Cup final loses his nerve in the WL just like we do.
So the next time you drop out due to frustration – or throw in the towel before the weekend and don't even bother with qualifying – just remember that none other than Mbappé doesn't play Champs anymore either.
Pro-tip: Just play FIFA against your friends in between, it's much more fun anyway:
