Esports tournament organizer BLAST has a partnership with Epic Games to host a $5 million FNCS Grand Royale event over two weekends in November - let the games begin!
The FNCS Grand Royale will be played in a unique format and a set of rules specially introduced for the event. The first phase of the tournament, a qualification phase, has already started (November 11th to 14th)!
The final will take place on the following weekend from November 19th to 21st. The European contestants are fighting for the most money ($2.250,300), followed by North America East ($1.055,250), Brazil ($699,300), North America West ($398,850), Asia ($248,400), Middle East ($198,400) and Oceania ($151,800). Worldwide FNCS Tournament Started in Fortnite!
The organizer BLAST is doing a lot for the tournament. Anyone who thinks that the players are just sweating and after that the tournament is over, is wrong. The FNCS Grand Royale will have an extra live hype show organized, which will take place on Friday, November 19. The show features interviews with Fortnite players, analysis from popular casters, and key Fortnite competition announcements for next year.
Sounds a bit like the football Champions League. In terms of effort, BLAST is a great organizer. So it's even better that we find out all about upcoming tournaments in this context and get to know the pros a little better.
By the way: This is the second time that BLAST works with Epic. The tournament organizer produced the All-Star Showdown in June, which featured a $3 million prize pool for players from around the world. Nicolas Estrup, Vice President of Product at BLAST, said his company is excited to be working with Fortnite again - we're excited as well!
Where To Watch The FNCS Tournament
The qualifying stage of the FNCS Grand Royale (November 11-14) will not be shown by BLAST. You have to watch your favorite players' streams if you want to see the Fortnite action. But obviously, it only gets really interesting when we see the big live show and the decisive duels.
But as I said: A stream from one or the other gamer is also very nice. Estrup sums up the cooperation with Epic very well: "This month’s end-of-year event will be further testament to the incredible synergy we’ve built up between the two companies over this time and the combined ambition in how we bring Fortnite to life competitively for the community.“ So can we look forward to more high-class tournaments?
