Fortnite and crossovers - they just go together. New collaborations are announced again and again. In our weekly series, we introduce you to one Fortnite skin each time. Today it's Marvel's Black Panther turn.
More and more characters from series, movies or other games appear as skins in Fortnite, like the recent Naruto skin. To make sure you don't lose track of the story behind the characters, we'll keep you up to date. Our weekly series returns with a really nice collaboration between Epic Games and Marvel: Black Panther!
Fortnite Skin Black Panther
Black Panther is a fictional character and a superhero from the Marvel Universe. His real name is T'Challa, and he is portrayed as the king and protector of the fictional African nation of Wakanda. T'Challa not only possesses enhanced abilities gained through ancient Wakandan rituals in which he drinks the essence of the heart-shaped herb, but also relies on his knowledge of science, rigorous physical training, hand-to-hand combat skills, and access to wealth and advanced Wakandan technology to fight his enemies.
In 2018, the first film starring Black Panther as the main character was released in US theaters. At the 2019 Academy Awards, Black Panther was nominated in seven categories, including Best Picture, and ultimately won the Oscar in three different categories. The lead role in it was played by Chadwick Aaron Boseman, who unfortunately succumbed to the consequences of colon cancer in August 2020 at the young age of 43.
Fortnite Season 5 was themed around Marvel. While we got a bunch of awesome Marvel Battle Pass skins, one in particular was missing: the Black Panther. Instead, a large statue of a black panther appeared on the map and players were able to find a Black Panther superpower, although a corresponding Black Panther skin never appeared in the Fortnite store. But then the time came: Black Panther arrived on the island, along with Captain Marvel and Taskmaster.
How to get the Black Panther skin in Fortnite?
Black Panther was added to Fortnite on December 21, 2020 as part of the Marvel lineup in Chapter 2, Season 5. It is available now and then in Fortnite's item store and can only be purchased there.
How much does the Black Panther skin cost in Fortnite?
Unfortunately, to our disappointment, the Black Panther skin cannot be purchased individually and is only available in the Marvel: Sovereigns And Warriors pack. And nope, you can't buy the pack even with V-Bucks.
It costs 24.99€ and can only be bought with real money.

Outfit Black Panther:
"The rightful king of Wakanda."
As a fan, you can't help but love this skin! It's amazing how similar it is to his original. But the coolest thing is his other "kinetically charged" style. This one adorns him from head to toe with a purple glowing pattern and looks insanely cool. This is definitely a way to honor Black Panther!
Emote Wakanda Salute
The salute has become an iconic greeting - something that many of the cast members of the 2018 film Black Panther have spoken about publicly in the months following its release. Of course, it can't be missing from Fortnite either! You could get the emote for free by completing the following small tasks in Fortnite:
- Play 10 rounds
- Play 5 rounds in duo or squad
- Survive 500 opponents
Back-Bling King's Cape
"Dark as night and made with vibranium threads."
What would a king be without his cape? Like the Black Panther skin, the cape comes in a "kinetically charged!" style. After all, the cape has to be fit for the King, right?
Hang Glider Wakandan Sky Glider
"A royal flying machine."
Somehow you have to get from A to B. And so, without further ado, the Black Panther has been given his own glider. But he doesn't hold on to it. No, the players can stand on the sky glider. This makes it a lot harder to hit them in the air.
Harvesting Tool Vibranium Daggers
"Ancient weapons implemented with technology."
