The 2023 Olympic Esports Series is a global virtual sports competition launched by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in collaboration with international federations (IFs) and game publishers.

The best male and female players will compete live and on-site at the Olympic Esports Finals in Singapore from June 22-25, 2023, as part of Olympic Esports Week.

And now, on May 5, the IOC together with the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) decided to include Fortnite in the program of the Olympic Esports Finals. And you can even be there live at the event! Here are the details.

Fortnite x Olympic Esports Series: Participants And Game Mode

The competition will be an invitational event where 12 players from the Fortnite Champion Series will be allowed to participate. There will be a special International Shooting Sport Federation creative island in Fortnite designed to reflect the sport shooting competition. Players will be tested on their accuracy, just as sport shooters would be in a real-world competition.

In doing so, Fortnite joins games like Tic Tac Bow, WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros, Just Dance, Gran Turismo 7 and more as the only shooter to date. Yes, the selection of games is a bit strange. However, Fortnite gives us back hope for a slightly more exciting event.
