Agent A: Devs Don't Rule Out A Sequel, But Don't Expect It All Too Soon

Agent A is probably one of the best Escape Room games out there – originally developed for mobile devices, it meanwhile also released on consoles. But will there be a new chapter or even a complete sequel coming out? We reached out to the developers from Yak & Co. – here's what they had to say about a potential Agent A 2 alias Agent B.

If you like Escape Room games, I strongly recommend taking a look at Agent A. In the game, you take on the role of Agent A, tasked with capturing the mysterious spy Ruby La Rouge. In five challenging levels, you're faced with a series of puzzles and riddles to unravel. Agent A has a unique graphics style with beautifully designed environments, and though many puzzles are very challenging, it never gets unfair. Having played several Escape Room games on different platforms, I consider Agent A to be among the best games available in the genre.

Agent A was first released in 2016, with the latest chapter being added in late 2019. The game was so successful that it even made its way onto PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC (on Steam, you can also download a free demo version in case you want to try out the game before buying). But meanwhile several years have passed, and there is no sign of a sequel, which you might consider surprising, since many successful games are getting a sequel sooner or later.

Agent A: What The Devs Say About A Potential Sequel

Since there is no sign of a sequel to Agent A, we decided to contact the devs from Yak & Co. and ask them about their thoughts of a potential successor. In their reply, they stated that "We currently don't have a sequel in production, however an Agent A 2 (or Agent B) is something we would definitely love to create at some point in the future". [...] "It's always in the back of our minds".

As a two-person studio, they have been open about a sequel needing several years to complete, just like it was with Agent A. So, although a sequel is not officially planned yet, there should be a good chance that an Agent A 2 or Agent B will become reality anytime in the future – but probably not anytime soon.

If you liked Agent A and you're looking for similar games, we can recommend the "The Room" series to you. The Room is an Escape Room game just like Agent A, but with a much darker setting. If that's nothing that bothers you, give it a chance – The Room is available on iOS and Android, as well as on PC and for Nintendo Switch.

As soon as there is movement regarding an Agent A successor, we will let you know here!
