Alan Wake Remastered has been announced for 2021, following leaks last week. Remedy and Epic Games announced Alan Wake Remastered, featuring a 4K resolution, for a number of platforms. Even more excitingly, Alan Wake Remastered paves the way for a potential Alan Wake 2 further down the road.
It's pretty nuts to hear that Alan Wake is getting a Remaster. The game is an Xbox 360 and PC classic, and a game that must-oh-must be experienced if you haven't already. It is an intense, vibrant, and chilling experience, and won't take up too much of your time. With Alan Wake Remastered announced for 2021, I can honestly hardly keep myself from dancing out of my chair...
The original game, which came out for Xbox 360 in 2010, was a cult-hit that garnered increasing support and love over the years. It is no secret that Remedy have wanted to return to the world of Alan Wake for years, and perhaps they have found the perfect excuse. That being said, let's answer a few pressing questions about Alan Wake Remastered...
Alan Wake Remastered Details
Alan Wake Remastered will be upped to a 4K resolution, and will come with both of its expansions. It will also include commentary from the game's creative director, Sam Lake, who released a letter to an Alan Wake fan site. It was unbelievably sweet, and makes us even more hyped to replay this absolute classic. You can really feel the love here:
Alan Wake came out over 11 years ago, and through that time, you have told us again and again how much you love the game, the story, the characters, and the lore. And that matters a lot to us. We love this game as well. I love this game. The remaster is coming because of your support for Alan Wake through the years.
Lake worked on the original game way-back-when, and certainly expressed a lot of excitement in this post. A new 4K version of Alan Wake would play unbelievably well. The game had remarkable graphics for its time, using moody and atmospheric lighting to form a sense of dread and fear that is still largely unparalleled. It's a game that still holds up, even if you dust off your ol' Xbox 360 for it. We seriously can't contain our excitement for Alan Wake Remastered!

When is the Alan Wake Remastered Release Date?
Alan Wake Remastered is confirmed to be set for 2021, with retailer leaks suggesting an October 5 release date. Honestly, we would be pretty bloody happy with this! Remedy are the masterminds behind Control and Max Payne, and with the former having released a few years ago, we can imagine that they would have been hard at work on the Alan Wake Remaster for quite a while now... and might have another bun in the oven!

Is Alan Wake 2 Coming?
It is quite likely that Alan Wake 2 is coming, but has not been officially confirmed by Remedy or Epic Games. Remedy partnered with Epic Games in 2020, and was said to be working on two next-gen games. One was said to be a smaller project, and one a much bigger Triple-A experience. We imagine that Alan Wake Remastered would be the smaller game, which leaves the door open for Alan Wake 2.
There's also the matter of the open-letter above. Remedy are clearly both unbelievably passionate about Alan Wake, and unbelievably excited about something. Do you really think that all of that excitement is simply directed at Alan Wake Remastered? No, we don't think so... In other words, we are pretty bloody sure that Alan Wake 2 is coming...
