For a few days now, players have been making Norway and the picturesque landscapes of England unsafe. To get you started in the open-world RPG Assassin's Creed Valhalla, our guide provides you with the best tips and tricks for getting started.

With Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft's open-world game series takes itself to new heights. In our playthrough, the adventure around Eivor Wolfsmal is inspiring with many impressive atmospheric Viking themes. But also, from a playful point of view, a lot has changed: With our tips and tricks, we make you fit for game, in the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Beginner's Guide.

1. Discover the Viewpoints

If Valhalla is not your first Assassin's Creed, you can safely ignore this tip. Whether in the first few hours of play in Norway or after you and your clan have moved to England, it is a good idea to first scan the huge map for viewpoints and discover them.

This way you will uncover a large part of the map and find treasures, artifacts, and puzzles in the surrounding area. Viewpoints are usually located in higher areas like mountains, fortresses, or towers - you can recognize them on the map by an eagle symbol.

2. First Upgrade Your Meals

In the inventory menu of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you can not only get an overview of your equipment, but you can even improve it and add runes. Thanks to the revised leveling system, it definitely makes sense to upgrade your equipment regularly - after all, you will find new items much less often this time.

However, the first upgrades should go into your meals, at the bottom left in the inventory menu. The reason is obvious: meals are the only way to regenerate your health. There is nothing worse than going into the next battle without eating.

3. Good Mushrooms, Bad Mushrooms

In the world of Valhalla, you will find many sources of food. In addition to all kinds of animals, mushrooms are the best way to quickly replenish your health.

But be careful, because just like in real life not all fungi are digestible. In general, yellow mushrooms are great and provide vital energy, while black mushrooms provide little and can harm you.

4. Uncover the Skill Tree

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has a huge, branched skill tree. Unlike its predecessors, you will find useful passive and active skills in each of the trees. But you won't know where they are hidden until you have uncovered each of the trees. And for this, you need several skill points.

To uncover a new tree, all you have to do is activate the node and then you can take your time to see which skills are hidden in it and whether it is worth investing points in it. If necessary, you can also reset your learned skills if you wish.

5. Build the Stables in Your Settlement

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla you will spend many hours on the back of your horse. Fortunately, the mounts in the current series can even be upgraded. To do so, you will have to upgrade the stables as soon as you reach your settlement in England.

The most useful upgrade is the ability to teach your horse to swim. This has never been done before in the long history of the Assassin's Creed series. Until now, the four-legged creatures vehemently resisted getting wet. And since England is crisscrossed by many rivers, it makes traveling a lot easier.

6. Village Seer

If your village has reached level 3, the seer will settle in the new community. Then you should cobble together a dwelling for the lady as soon as possible.

Valka has an exciting series of missions that will take you to a completely new area - with lots of experience points, strong rewards and a deep insight into Nordic mythology. It is worth it.

7. Chaos and Destruction

Assassin's Creed Valhalla comes up with a variety of destructible objects. From glass panes to wooden doors and windows to locked entrances. If something looks destructible, it usually is.

A well-aimed blow with your axe or a well-placed arrow is usually enough to gain access. Also keep your eyes open for firepots, because only with them you can reach certain areas.

The whole thing becomes much easier with the Books of Knowledge, which teach you new close and long-range combat skills. With a lit explosive dart, you can get into any locked door without additional tools.

8. Extended Assassination

If you want to play the game in the tradition of the series and choose a stealth approach, the talent "Extended Assassination" is recommended. This allows you to immediately eliminate even high-ranking elite opponents with a short QTE mini-game.You can find the skill in the talent tree "Way of the Raven" along the yellow line in the skill tree.

9. Master the Flyting

Flyting, also known as Viking Rap Battles, is a new mini-game in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Apart from being a lot of fun, the word battles also prove to be useful.Winning battles increases your charisma, which unlocks new dialogue options that will prove extremely useful as the game progresses.

10. Pay Attention: Recommended Strength

Always keep an eye on the map when exploring the game world of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Each area has a recommended strength. For example, you may be level 20 on one side of the river in Mercia, but the enemies on the other side have a strength of 250 - and send you to Valhalla in one fell swoop.

To prevent this from happening, you should always pay attention to the strength of the enemy in the area you are traveling to. This also applies to the new raids, which are also shown on the map with a strength value.

If you follow our tips and tricks, you will be able to raid Assassin's Creed Valhalla successfully. You can read more about gaming and esports on EarlyGame. Also, keep an eye on our YouTube channel to stay up to date.
