Norwegian fans of the Assassin's Creed series were up for an unexpected monetary surprise by publisher Ubisoft. For a short while, the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Edition was available for purchase in the country for €10! You read that right - €10! Of course, this was not by design. What happened?

Ubisoft are notorious for the dozen editions they create of their major releases. It is extremely ironic that the one time they stuck to the standard-extended-ultimate-complete edition model, they managed to f#$% that up. Oh, Ubisoft!

Norway Gets a €10 Ultimate Edition of Assassin's Creed Valhalla

For a couple of hours yesterday, the price of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Edition was unusually low for Norwegian customers. By that we mean it cost about as much as a chewed up Big Mac. The price of €10 was quickly recognized and dozens of people managed to snap the game before the price was brought back up to its normal state.

How and why that happened? We doubt such thoughts passed through anyone's mind, but no, this was not a Viking discount for citizens of the motherland. We have a theory that this whole mess is a result of... a misclick. Once again - you read that correctly.

Given how the regular price of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Edition is €110 and the price this version of the game ended up with in Norway - 110 NOK (Norwegian Krone), the pieces do seem to fit. Someone must have overlooked the fact that Norway does not use the euro as its primary currency and unknowingly gifted a 90% discount to those quick enough to detect the unplanned offer.

From what we could gather, i.e. reading reddit comments, Ubisoft have not taken any action towards refunding the copies sold during the price debacle. At least for now, it looks like finders will indeed be keepers. With how the year's been going for Ubisoft, they might as well swallow the losses and keep their mouth shut. More negative press is the last thing this company needs.
