Do you remember Star Wars 1313? Footage of the cancelled Star Wars game just leaked... and it looks incredible.
Folks, let me take you to a trip down memory lane. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was this peaceful and wonderful year called 2012. In this year, we got the most exciting announcement imaginable – an Action-Adventure set in the Star Wars universe, where you play as none other than Boba Fett. This game was called Star Wars 1313 and had a gameplay demo so good, it's the stuff of legends now. Unfortunately it got Death Star'd in the following year and cancelled by Disney, after they bought the rights to Star Wars for an amount of money, that Microsoft can only laugh at.
Throughout the years after it got got, some loose info on Star Wars 1313 leaked here and there, bits and bops. Now we got a juicy chunk of new footage that surfaced on the internet, showing some gameplay featuring Boba Fett – and it looks bloody incredible.
This Cancelled Star Wars Game Looks Incredible
The footage has been released by The Vault, a project looking deeper into unreleased/cancelled Star Wars games. The video shows, among other things, a very cool looking section in a bar and a chase sequence that reminds us a lot of Uncharted. Check it out at the end of this article.
Of course this footage looks a bit wonky, but it's apparently from an early stage of development, so ignore that and just enjoy how gosh darn cool it looks. Enjoy it, and then cry because Star Wars 1313 is dead and will never come out. And then cry some more, because Battlefront 3 was hit with the same fate. Look what they did to my boy...
But hey, the amazing Respawn Entertainment are going to make three more Star Wars games, so there's at least that. Hopefully at least one of those will be as cool as Star Wars 1313. I personally really enjoyed Jedi: Fallen Order, so my hopes are really high for the sequel, which should be coming fairly soon. And until then, The Book of Boba Fett will keep us busy enough and dry our solemn tears
