CDPR, the company behind Cyberpunk 2077 issued an official apology to fans today and even offered refunds to anyone with a console copy.
Cyberpunk 2077, the most anticipated game of the year, maybe even the decade? It's finally out but the reception wasn't nearly as good as CDPR hoped. The title was already delayed a couple of times and has been in the making for at least 7 years which led to some insanely high expectations. The game had to get an A+ in every department and looking realistically at it, that was never possible.
The cyberpunk action-adventure suffered from numerous problems at launch and most of the bugs still plague the game to this day. From floating weapons and ghost cars to outright broken quests that required you to restart the game if you want to make any progress. The game is so full of bugs that it has an entire subreddit dedicated to that and most of the clips there are hilarious.

One thing that really stood out was the difference between what the trailer promised and what the game actually delivered on last-gen consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a next-gen title and it’s no surprise that the PS4 and Xbox One have trouble running it. The game looks like a PS2 title at best but that should change soon. Today, CDPR issued an official apology to the fan base and promised regular updates along with refunds for console copies of the game.

That’s right if you bought Cyberpunk 2077 for your console, you’re not happy with how it looks and you don’t feel like waiting CDPR will give you your money back. Kudos to the company for admitting the obvious and giving players a choice. If you’ve bought a digital copy of the game you can follow the official procedures. For physical ones, you can try the retailer, and if that doesn't work then the CDPR support.
Note that, in time the game will get a lot better, not only on consoles but on every platform. Stadia seems to be a good alternative to consoles right now. It has been a few days since the official release and the game was already hit by a couple of patches. It’s still unclear when the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 will hit the shelves, but it’ll be some time in 2021.
Until then, PC is probably the best platform you can enjoy it on, but you'll still need a high-end system if you want all the eye-candy. Otherwise, you can run it on low and still get decent FPS.
