The 2016 soccer world champion embodies the character Chrono in the Mobile Battle Royale and is enthusiastic about the new partnership:
“It’s a great feeling to not only have a character in Free Fire based on my role model, but also to have the entire universe change with him in the game. The Garena team has brought numerous new features and elements for Operation Chrono into the game. I hope that Free Fire players all over the world will be as excited as I am!"
Garena Free Fire, also known as Free Fire Battlegrounds, was created by a Singapore-based development studio and has enjoyed enormous popularity since its release in late 2017.
In 2019, the game was downloaded approximately 267 million times on the Google Play Store and App Store, making it the most downloaded game of the year. The game is similar to other genre classics such as Fortnite or PUBG, with the difference that only 50 players are fighting for survival at the same time.
Due to the low hardware requirements of smartphones and tablets, you can enjoy Garena Free Fire even with older devices. In India, there is even a special Esports tournament series for the title, whose games attract an average of around one million viewers.
