Crysis 2 Remastered is set to release later this year, as part of a massive Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Well, we now have a first look at Crysis 2 Remastered, with a deep-dive look at the game's graphics, resolution, and frame rate. Here are the Crysis 2 Remastered details, as well as a first look at this next-gen version of Crysis 2...
Crysis 2 is not even getting 4K. Yes, that's right, the next-gen remastered edition of the Crysis series – a video game franchise predicated on its insane graphics – does not seem to have 4K on the PS5... That's pretty crazy, isn't it? How can this happen? Look, look, look, it's going to run at 60 FPS, but seriously? What the hell? Here's a Crysis 2 Remastered First Look, including details on the graphics, resolution, and frame rate.
Look, there are tons of cool games coming out, but let's be real: is there anything cooler than Crysis? Here's what we know...
Crysis 2 Remastered First Look
Digital Foundry got a first look at Crysis 2 Remastered, and has released a full Tech Breakdown from Crytek. You can see it below, but here's the deal: the game looks incredible. It might not be 4K, but this is one remake to write home about. Wonderful graphics – hey, it's no The Last of Us: Part 2, but still incredible – and some pretty remarkable improvements. In the breakdown, Crysis 2 looks better than ever, and that iconic combat is there-and-ready. Honestly, last year's Crysis 1 remake was a bit of a let-down, but this? Sure, the textures are a little dull, and the fire looks... odd... but the rest of the game looks pretty good. As we said... it could be better... but we'll have to wait until the game releases to be one hundred percent sure. Jeez. I went from jumping-for-joy to saying the equivalent of "meh". Oh well, here's the video, and here are the juicy-deets...
Known Crysis 2 Remastered Details
- 1440p Native Resolution of PS5, with higher resolutions possible on the Xbox Series X|S.
- The game should run at 60FPS on next-gen consoles, at the above resolution.
- Crysis 2 and 3 Remastered will run at 30 FPS on the Nintendo Switch.
So there you have it. Our first proper look at Crysis Remastered Trilogy. It might suck that the game is not 4K, but we do have to remember: Crysis is amazing, and this is probably going to be amazing. Honestly, if they just ported the game across it would still be a win. Thus, we're not too sad to see that the next-gen version of this classic game isn't going to be that much of an upgrade.
