After nine years, Crytek has announced another entry into the Crysis franchise. How will the game change? Will first-person shooters be reinvented by Crytek? Only time will tell.
Nobody anticipated that Crytek would announce the fourth instalment for their Crysis franchise in 2022. However, this development studio surprised fans with an unexpected announcement after being silent for years. Unfortunately, there isn’t much information known about Crysis 4, but I’m expecting this franchise to revitalize itself with amazing graphics & gameplay that could potentially change how first-person shooters are experienced. We won’t know until an official gameplay trailer is released for Crysis 4. Until then, we’ve compiled what information is available about this upcoming game.
Crysis 4 Could Be Released In Late 2023
Crytek hasn’t provided an official release date for Crysis 4 because the game was only announced on January 27th, 2022. We won’t receive this information for another couple of months. Fortunately, confirmations have been made that employment positions are available at Crytek. I’m guessing they’ve increased their development window for Crysis 4, which meansthe game could release by 2023-2024. But these launch schedules are hypothetical for now.
Game Setting & Story for Crysis 4
We’re expecting New York City to return as the playable environment in Crysis 4. However, new locations like San Francisco or Chicago could be explored in the fourth installment of Crysis. How would the virus affect these regions after 45+ years of infection? That’s something we’d all be interested in playing. But information regarding the game setting is minimal for now. We’ll keep you updated as more announcements are made.
Is Crysis 4 Getting Released Onto Xbox and PC?
The next-generation of consoles & graphic cards will have the power needed to operate Crysis 4. Anyone owning an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, or Nvidia GeForce 3060 will be capable of running this game at its highest settings. These consoles can also manage the Crysis Remastered Trilogy at it's highest setting. However, we'd like to clarify that the retail price for Crysis 4 & it's remastered trilogy will change based on your regional costs.
Is Crysis 4 Part of The Game Pass on Xbox?
Don’t expect the 4th Crysis installment to be launched with the Game Pass. Yes, it would be incredible to experience this game for free on day one. But the chances are slim since Crytek hasn’t launched another entry into the Crysis franchise for nearly ten years.
Everything We Know About Crysis 4 So Far: All Leaks & Rumors
Unfortunately, nothing is known about the fourth installment of this franchise. I’m hopeful that more information will release shortly, but Crytek is remaining quiet about gameplay details for now. Luckily, this indicates that Crytek is taking the development phase seriously. We’re almost guaranteed to experience an impressive game that reintroduces Prophet or Alcatraz as playable characters. I’m hoping to experience missions that see’s Alcatraz in Chicago or NYC. However, seeing these super soldiers compete in battle royales would be the ultimate upgrade for Crysis. The characters and game setting hasn’t been revealed yet, but you can expect updates shortly.
Is Crysis 4 Getting a Female Protagonist?
There are low chances that Crytek will introduce a female protagonist into Crysis 4. This game has typically focused on male soldiers enhanced with various capabilities. Despite that, I’d enjoy seeing Prophet or Alcatraz have to work alongside female super-soldiers. It would be an exciting dynamic that changes how the Crysis franchise is played.
Game Trailer and Demo
Crytek has released demos for the Crysis games with each installment. We’re anticipating that the Xbox Series X and PC will have playable demos available when Crysis 4 launches. This would allow me & everyone else to test this title without spending our money. I mean, isn’t playing a demo better than preordering a game & hoping for the best? I’d say so.
Game System Requirements
Crytek haven't revealed the official system requirements for Crysis 4. However, upcoming games for next-generation consoles can provide us some generalized context of what to expect. We're confident you'll need the following components to operate this title on the PC with 30FPS to 120FPS. You can expect higher-resolutions & better textures by following these system requirements.
