Cyberpunk 2077 is here in all of its glory. By glory, we mean its buggy, messy glory. CD Projekt Red should take note of the word ‘glory’ because it is what Cyberpunk SHOULD have been, not what it has become. With ‘Cyberbug 2077’ trending on Twitter, we are diving into exactly what is wrong with the game, and what the devs are going to do about it.
What’s happened with Cyberpunk 2077 is a legitimate tragedy. We remember when we were first introduced to the game, all those years ago, with the promise that it will come “when it’s ready”. Well, it’s here, and it’s definitely not ready! We just hope everything gets fixed up soon, because the game itself is actually incredible!
We want to start by saying that we have no doubt that CD Projekt Red (CDPR) will make this right for players. The developer is famous for having an unbelievably customer-friendly approach to business and public relations. When they released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in 2015, the industry was deep in the throes of microtransactions, yet the game did nothing of the sort – it actually GAVE players free DLC!
The article above details CDPR’s public response to what is now a gaming crisis! The problem is that, in practice, the reality of customers experiences attempting to refund the game have been anything but good. We are sure that CDPR will make greatly improve last-gen users experiences, but we may be waiting a while.
We are pleased to say that many of the game-breaking glitches – you know, the ones that actually make you reboot your entire system – have been addressed in the latest patch. This is a great start, but there is a long way to go! Thus, here is a brief collection of the worst #Cyberbugs2077.
Game-Breaking Bugs and Glitches
CDPR have addressed many of the game-breaking bugs and glitches in recent updates, but it is still going on. The big difference here, is that when it comes to performance, there are less problems on PC and next-gen, but crashes and game-breaking bugs are across the board. It sucks to be booted out of the game, especially when the game prides itself on immersion.
Some of these insane bugs include, but are not limited to:
- Quests that are broken and not starting correctly, or cannot be finished.
- Incorrect dialogue choices appearing, stopping you from building your character.
- Hard-crashes, regardless of platform. These are either freezes on console that are so severe they require a restart, or ‘this application is not responding’ on PC.
- Boss fights that freeze midway through, causing players to be unable to defeat them without a reboot.
Most gamers are kind of okay with a few quirks here and there in their games, we even laugh at them! But when a bug or glitch actually BREAKS the bloody thing, we get furious. These will be addressed, but for now, we’d certainly recommend holding off on buying the game until at least these have been fixed...
Giggle-Worthy Bugs and Glitches
Well, we gotta break up the sad story of Cyberpunk 2077’s release with a little bit of fun, so here are a few of the most hilarious bugs and glitches we’ve tracked down for you!
On this road, the cars seem to hate this particular barricade...
Will never progress in Cyberpunk 2077 because I can't stop watching every single driver slowly crash into this one barricade and then yell at me about it pic.twitter.com/AqE5wbCsvT

Performance Is S**T!
Cyberpunk 2077 is an amazing game, when it works right. But, if you are playing on a PS4 or Xbox One, then you may as well not even bother at this point. At times, the frame rate is dropping so low that the game is not playable – we've heard reports of some players experiencing speeds as low as 10FPS! We expect at least 30FPS at the VERY LEAST. This is PS4, not PS3, (or Xbox One, not Xbox 360) and the performance should be better than that!!

With constant crashes amidst low framerates, these patches need to really make the difference if CDPR wants Cyberpunk 2077 to be a success on last-gen. They also can’t expect all gamers to have the highest-spec PC rig! The game seems to be so buggy, and so slow, that PC’s are even struggling on lower settings.
So, there are hundreds of bugs in Cyberpunk 2077, but we want to remind you: the game is actually good! But that doesn’t excuse poor performance. We here at EarlyGame have the privilege of playing on a brand-spanking-new PS5, and that has been a joy (for the most part), but a lot of gamers don't have that kind of cash to throw around - and it’s sold out, like, EVERYWHERE!
The fact of the matter is that, despite of the bugs, crashes, glitches and performance drops, last-gen is suffering from simply not fitting expectations. The NPC count has been dropped, textures are so bad that they could be from the PS2, and we are just crying ourselves to sleep at night...
