Many fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming release of the big Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty. It won't only overhaul the gameplay experience but also give you a big storyline that'll have an impact on the main story plot and maybe the ending?
The devs confirmed that Phantom Liberty isn't a sequel, indicating that it won't happen after the end of the original main plot from Cyberpunk 2077. They said:
You need to get to a certain point in Cyberpunk 2077 to unlock Phantom Liberty. You might also get different endings based on how things play out.
Those who've played Cyberpunk 2077 will be especially interested in the final part of the quote. At least, I can't wait to see how the DLC will impact my opinion about the ending!
CD Project Red also announced a special Phantom Liberty-themed episode of Night City Wire for September 14. It's set for 8am PDT, 11am EST, 4pm BDT, 5pm CEST and will include information about new radio stations, gameplay improvements and the newest character Solomon Reed, played by Idris Elba.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: Release Date
The Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC will cost $29.99 and arrives on September 26 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Everyone who has Cyberpunk 2077 on the last gen won't get any updates, like 2.0, or the DLC.
This will also be the first and last DLC we'll get for Cyberpunk 2077. The devs confirmed there aren't any future DLCs planned, as they shift over to the next Cyberpunk game, called "Project Orion".
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty: Confirmed Features
These are all confirmed features you'll get:
- Enter the shadowy world of spycraft – The new story leads you to save the NUS President while traversing into the newest district called "Dogtown". You have to team up with the secret agent Solomon Reed and survive the high-risk scenario
- Enter the Combat Zone "Dogtown" – Dogtown is a new district in Night City hidden behind thick and high walls. It's ruled by a trigger-happy militia where no police would ever dare step into. You need to take care of yourself and be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish your mission
- Militia called Barghest – The organization is ruled by Colonel Hansen. He carved out this patch of land for himself during the Unification War and intends to keep it this way. His military background doesn't mean he favors violence. With his keen intellect, you found a formidable foe;
- Additionally, you will get another Relic-Skilltree, Quests, Activities and over 100 new Items, Cars, Weapons, Armor and Fashion;
- Vehicle missions with airdrops and tons of other dynamic events;
- Increased level cap up to 60;
- Vehicles can be equipped with rocket launchers, to guarantee ultimate chaos;

Thanks to a leak from PlayStation Game Size on Twitter we now know that Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty won't be just a small Add-on to the game, but quite a game changer (literally)!
We now know that the DLC will have a download size of 32.926 GB for the PlayStation 5 and PC. Leading to a total size of 88.2 GB for PS5 and 102 GB for PC. You're also able to pre-download the DLC on PC!
If you stopped playing after the original release of the game, now is a great moment to return and enjoy a fantastic time! With tons of updates and the latest one delivering a massive overhaul gameplay-wise, you won't recognize Cyberpunk 2077 anymore and the redemption arc from the devs is complete!
