You should check out Sifu, a new action game that is like a cross between Dark Souls and Street Fighter.
Do you like games that are really hard and challenge you and your gaming skills? Do you like martial arts movies, that are unbelievably cool? Then we have the perfect game for you: Sifu is an action game that is a mix between Dark Souls and Street Fighter. And we absolutely love it.
Sifu Is The Coolest (And Toughest) Game Of The Year
In Sifu, you play a nameless character who is on the hunt for the assassins of their family. And you're an absolute badass. If you think this sounds like every second Bruce Lee movie: you're right. The game is strongly inspired by classic martial arts cinema and it is so goddamn cool. But it's also tougher than a frozen Curly Wurly.
In every level, you are confronted with tons of really tough enemies who you fight with an intricate combat system. You have a slew of different combos and attacks to master, which strongly reminds us of fighting games like Street Fighter. This is not just super tough, but also super fun, as you dish out cool moves like it's disco night in the local bar. But as we said, it's tough as bricks, and that also means that you will die... a lot. And this is where the Dark Souls comparison comes in. No, it's not just because the game is hard...
You get XP, but you don't lose it immediately. After every death, your character ages (shout out to my voodoo medallions) until you are about 70 years old... in the game, of course. If you die, then it's game over, and you lose all of your things – it's the classic roguelike formula, also found in games like Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods. Sifu offers an incredible challenge and will really ask you to show your ultimate MLG skins. But if you make it through, you will be rewarded with one of the coolest action games we have ever seen. It looks fantastic, it has some of the best animation and combat we have ever seen in a single player action game, and have we mentioned that it's cool as heck? Check it out in this trailer and get the goddamn game already!
