Sony & PlayStation have pledged to bring more first-party exclusive games to the PC. This was confirmed by CEO Jim Ryan in a recent interview. The next game to be released is Days Gone.
Walking Dead and zombies fans rejoice: The unofficial 'what-if-COVID'- simulation Days Gone is going to be released on the PC. This was confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan with GQ. Yup. GQ. Every gamer's go-to source for all things gaming & esports... Anyway, here's the official Jim Ryan quote:
"There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make."
What is the Release Date for Days Gone on PC?
According to the GQ Interview (we still can't get over that...) Days Gone will release on PC in spring 2021. If you're unsure: Spring officially starts on Sunday, March 20, and ends on Monday, June 21. There, we've given you an exact window. Now we don't wanna hear any of that 'clickbait' stuff in the comments anymore. We wanna see some comments like 'Love you, EarlyGame', 'You're the best EarlyGame', 'I wish you made EarlyGame underwear'. Feel free to copy-paste those on our Facebook.
Anyway, here's another quote from Jim Ryan with GQ (ugh):
"People liked [Horizon Zero Dawn on PC] and they bought it. We also looked at it through the lens of what the PlayStation community thought about it. There was no massive adverse reaction to it. So we will continue to take mission steps in this direction."
If Days Gone is not your thing, don't sweat it: More PlayStation exclusives are coming to PC, as Sony wants to "explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability."
