Death Must Die is an amazing Survivors-like with the best elements of Vampire Survivors, Hades, Diablo 2 and Dark Souls. It's currently in Early Access on Steam. The developers have now released a roadmap for early 2024, to show us what they are working on.
Death Must Die is an amazing Survivor-like that mixes the best of its inspirations. It features incredible gameplay, an interesting art style and some amazing characters and lore. Currently, it is in early access on Steam and I can't recommend it enough.
Since it is in early access, you play through the content relatively quickly, depending on how good you are at this type of games. But Realm Archive, the developers behind this gem, have just announced their new Roadmap for the first quarter of 2024.
Death Must Die Roadmap For 2024 Reveals A New Location, Character & Much More
The Roadmap shown on steam has a holiday surprise for us on 20 December. Based on the picture, we can assume that we either get a playable skeleton character or that our boney enemies will be in a more festive mood.
Usually the game is set in a dark, moody and gloomy forest graveyard, but the developers are going to change this in the so-called Act II Update.
The new location “Endless Desert” features a sandy, rocky desert (duh) where your hero can wander around aimlessly to find boons, shrines and items.
But that's not it. We will also be getting a new god with new boons and blessings. Any guesses who it could be?
To add onto that, we will be getting a new character. Within our already decent 5 man roster, there is only 1 ranged hero. While Merris is a sorceress, there is still one typical fantasy trope missing. Exactly: We are getting a ranger!
But that is still not it. Realm Archive have gone above and beyond with this roadmap promising even more and better Tier 2 Items, more item abilities and even unique items.
With the new map, we will also be getting more map objectives and new Act II enemies with powerful abilities.
For lore nerds out there, Realm Archives have mentioned that the saga of the lusty orc handyman will also continue.
They have also added a feature list for possible updates that looks even more promising. The features include Duo God Blessings, Character Talent Trees, even more characters and new blessings. The shop will potentially be re-rollable and items can be part of powerful sets. Also, we might finally get item loadouts for our characters, so you don't need to fill up your stash and swap your items around after every run.
You can see the Death Must Die roadmap here. Honestly, I'm just very excited about the amount of things they are adding. Every change looks really thought through, and I can't wait to play on the new map.
