BlizzCon 2021 came with some nice announcements and hit us with a surprise: Diablo 2 Resurrected is coming. The Diablo 2 Remaster we've all been waiting for. Release date, info on crossplay, platforms and multiplayer – we have all the answers.

What is the Diablo 2 Resurrected Release Date?
Diablo 2 Resurrected will be released late in 2021 and will also include all the content from the Lord of Destruction Expansion. Duh. Everybody knows Lord of Destruction was where it's at anyway.
What Platforms is Diablo 2 Resurrected Releasing For?
- Diablo 2 Resurrected will be released for the PC, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and the Xbox Series X
- The game will run at 4K and 60fps on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X
- It will support ultra-wide monitors and have controller support
Mind you that Diablo 2 Resurrected is a remaster and not a remake. This is still the original Diablo 2 experience, it just has a 3D layer added on top, features particle-based rendering, dynamic lighting and upgraded sound. Underneath all the 4K upgrade goodness, it's still the same old game, and you can actually switch between the original version and the new version at the click of a button.
Will Diablo 2 Resurrected Have Crossplay & Cross-Progression?
Yes, Diablo 2 Resurrected will have cross-progression,but it is not clear for which platforms yet. As for crossplay, there is no word on that yet. As of now, there is no crossplay.

Will Diablo 2 Resurrected Have Multiplayer?
Yes, the remaster has co-op for up to eight players. Unfortunately, the co-op is online only. There is no local co-op.
How Can I Sign Up For the Diablo 2 Resurrection Alpha?
That's actually quite simple. You just go on the official website and follow the outlined steps. Currently, alpha testing is only available for PC.
