Blizzard released sales numbers for Diablo 4, showing that the game is already a massive success.
Diablo 4 came out recently and it hit like a ton of bricks. It’s not just one of the best games of the year (as you can read about in our extensive Diablo 4 review), but also one of the biggest releases in general.

And we now know how huge exactly, as Blizzard revealed some stats about their latest ARPG banger – including a hellish revenue number.

According to a new press release by Blizzard, Diablo 4 was the “best-selling opening in Blizzard’s history”, making major bank by achieving a revenue of a whopping $666 million in “global sell-through”. Turns out the devil does pay well!

For some reason, the publisher is coy about the actual numbers of sold copies, but this points to around 9-10 million copies of Diablo 4 already having been sold.

Blizzard also released some stats about the in-game shenanigans players got up to. This includes the accumulative playtime of 276 million hours. Wow.
Here are some other stats from the press release:
- Since Early Access, an astonishing number 276 billion demons have been defeated, which is almost 35 times the number of people in the world.
- Players have been killed themselves more than 316 million times.
- Out of those, the notorious Butcher was responsible for over 5 million of them.
- Players have teamed up with friends in parties over 166 million times.
- In Hardcore mode, where deaths are permanent, only 163 players have reached the highest level.
Activision Blizzard is currently in the process of being acquired by Microsoft for a record sum of ca. $69 billion. Since 2021, the company faced multiple controversies concerning accusations of workplace harassment and sexual harassment, among others.
