We already wrote about it in 2021, now it's official. We will get a Dragon Age Netflix Show. Here is everything you need to know about Dragon Age: Absolution.
[Update: June 10]
It is happening, guys. We will see a new series in the Dragon Age universe. Dragon Age: Absolution will start in December 2022 on Netflix. It's not live action – but I'm still dying right now. Bioware dropped a trailer. Just take a look yourself:
As you can see in the trailer, Dragon Age: Absolution will be made in collaboration with Bioware. So we can hope that they will give us an authentic experience with Dragon Age lore and characters. The standalone series will be led by Mairghread Scott. She's known for Guardians of the Galaxy, which came out in 2015. As soon as we get a concrete release date, we will update the article.

All I ever wanted in life is a live-action Dragon Age show. Seriously. Hearing that there is not just a possibility, but apparently a Dragon Age Netflix Show already in the making, is making me cry happy tears. And if this turns out to be false, then I will end up crying disappointed tears. Anyway, let’s get to the bottom of this.
Is Dragon Age Getting A Netflix Show?
According to a trusted and proven source, a Dragon Age show is already in the making at Netflix. Now, here’s the thing. It’s not confirmed who this “trusted and proven source” is. Could literally be a kid on Twitter playing troll. However, there are many different reasons why we think that a Dragon Age Netflix show makes sense… especially now.
- Netflix is currently taking a deep dive into the world of gaming
- Dragon Age has so much potential to be a TV show (so many possibilities and stories to be explored)
- Netflix already has experience turning games into shows (e.g. Witcher, Castlevania)
A possible Mass Effect show has also been rumored to happen sometime in the future. Both Mass Effect and Dragon Age have the most potential to be turned into fully fleshed out shows, so we’d not be surprised if either of them is getting one.
The next question would be, is whether it’ll be a live action, or animated series. On /reddit, it seems as if many vote for it to be an animated series, but to be honest, I personally lean towards live action, especially after I’ve seen what can be done – see Witcher.
Netflix making a Dragon Age TV show from GamingLeaksAndRumours
As for what kind of story would be told: that’s so hard to narrow down. If you know Dragon Age even just a little bit, you know how much lore and story there is to uncover. Just at the top of my head, I could see a story about a Grey Warden, or maybe one about a Circle Mage… or about a Tevinter Slave?
You see what I mean…
Whether or not this rumor turns out to be true, we will let you know on EarlyGame, so make sure to regularly check back with us.
