15 Minutes of Elden Ring Gameplay

FromSoftware finally showed off some lengthy Elden Ring gameplay, and the game looks incredible.

You don't really need us to analyze the trailer, but can we just take a moment to appreciate just how much this looks like an open-world Dark Souls? Like this reminds me of the Shadow of Mordor games, with Dark Souls combat and gameplay mechanics. Throw in the fluidity of Breath of the Wild, and here we are.

The scope, the space, the movement, the fluidity, the speed of traversal... the graphics, the landscapes being so alive... maybe I'm exaggerating, but I have a feeling this will be FromSoftware's greatest game yet.

Obviously, the open landscapes and non-linear levels, also mean that we can tackle combat, and any situation in general, in a much freer approach than in previous games. If you're familiar with Breath of the Wild, then you know what players were able to do there... basically things that the developers probably never anticipated. On a different note, the open-world also means that we can choose to not engage in combat whenever we want: We can run away from bosses, and choose when to fight them. Hell, we can even choose to go for the end boss right after starting the game. The possibilities are endless, and since Dark Souls has always felt endless in its approaches to combat, giving players a truly open-world will truly make this game feel freed of restraints.

Elden Ring always had high expectations, but this just proves that the sky's the limit for this game. If you forgot, then mark your calendars for February 25, 2022, because that is when Elden Ring will release.
