The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War in Elden Ring is extremely strong, to the point of being basically OP. Here is how you can find the Hoarfrost Stomp in Elden Ring!
Elden Ring is tough, really tough. Parts of this game can be hard even for veterans of the Souls-games. What can help you though are some OP items in the game, especially the Ashes of War. Using any form of magic has always been considered the "easy mode" in Dark Souls, and the same goes for Elden Ring. And we want to help you get through The Lands Between, so we got the strongest Ash of War in the game for you right here: the Hoarfrost Stomp.
This bad boy is ridiculous: It causes tons of damage, builds up frostbite, has an AoE effect, costs very little FP and is usable on any melee armament. So trust us: you will want this in your arsenal. Let's check out where you can find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War in Elden Ring.
How Do I Get The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War In Elden Ring?
You have two different options to get the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War:
- Get the Icerind Hatchet, which already has Hoarfrost Stomp equipped.
- Find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War itself.
Whichever option you pick, you will have to go Liurnia of the Lakes to get the Hoarfrost Stomp. We will show you exactly where to go and what to do, so you can enjoy the mighty power of this OP Ash of War!
How To Find The Icerind Hatchet
You can find the Icerind Hatchet in the Temple Quarter area, southwest of the Raya Lucaria Academy. Now, this is actually a pretty tricky area to get to. Your best bet is to come from the south, more specifically the "Folly on the Lake" and head northwest towards the academy, making a left turn before the big hill with the academy building. If you come from the east, starting at either the "Fallen Ruins of the Academy" site or the "Academy Gate Town" checkpoint, head straight westward. The Temple Quarter is a small area of flooded ruins, with a few enemies that shouldn't be too tough. In the middle of the area, you can find a chest that has the Icerind Hatchet inside it. And that's it! We have marked the location on the map for you:
The Icerind Hatchet is a pretty good axe: It deals 111 physical damage and causes a frost build of 65. It requires 16 Dexterity and 11 Strength, scaling with Dex D and Str E, and it has the amazing Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War already included! But if you want to put that beauty on another weapon, then check out our second method:
How To Find The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War
The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War itself is also located in the "Liurnia of the Lakes" area, but in a different part than the academy. You can find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War in a small pond, east of the Caria Manor. The manor itself is in the northwest end of the overall area. If you haven't been to the manor yet, you should go to the "Road to the Manor" grace, make your way towards the big building and turn right before you go inside. The ideal starting point however is the "Main Caria Manor Gate" checkpoint. From there, you just get out of the gate, turn left and head straight to the pond. There, you will find an invisible Teardrop Scarab, which you can only see by the footprints it leaves. Kill that scarab and the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War is yours! We have again marked the location of the Ash of War on the map for you:
Why Is The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War So Good?
Because it is super strong and barely costs any FP. It covers a pretty large area and has high DPS, since it does a decent amount of damage and, most importantly, is super fast. You can basically spam the attack. And it only costs 10 FP, so if you level up your Mind stat, or rock a class that already has a decent amount of it, you will be able to just go ham with the stomp. We highly recommend getting this Ash of War as early as possible, especially in the early game it will make the game significantly easier for you. But if you use it correctly, and especially if you use it against enemies that are weak against frost, you can rock this thing until the end of Elden Ring. We definitely recommend it if you want to farm a lot of runes, whenever in the game you want to do that. So check it out!
