Blinking was never so dangerous like in this new Elden Ring mod called "Sinister Statues".
Have you tried Elden Ring, maybe with mods like enemy, boss, or item randomizers, and now you want a fresh challenge in "The Lands Between"? Dasaav's latest mod, "Sinister Statues," might be exactly what you're looking for.
In this mod, every monster, boss, or even wildlife has been transformed into a stationary statue. However, the catch is that they come to life and attack the moment you look away or blink. It adds a new layer of intensity to battles, especially against formidable foes like Malenia, Radahn or Hoarah Loux.
Elden Ring: Sinister Statues Mod Is A Complete New Challenge
The mechanic in the mod has a lot in common with the defense mechanism by the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. With the mechanism "Quantum-locking" they turn into stone when being observed by any living creature, making them resistant to harm.
However, when these creatures are not being observed, the Weeping Angels have the ability to move. In the series, they could become permanently petrified if they saw their own reflection, leaving them trapped until they die. But alas, this isn't possible in the mod.
Dasaav explained:
Enemies inside your field of view do not move. Entering combat or being sighted by an enemy will make your character start blinking at regular intervals. You can press and hold the interact key to stop blinking temporarily, or release it early to blink and reset the timer.
If you want to add some excitement to your game and combine the Sinister Statues mod with other Elden Ring mods, you're in luck. According to Dasaav, most other mods, such as the first-person perspective and Reforged mods, should work together.
However, multiplayer mods like "Seamless Co-op" might not be compatible. If there's sufficient interest from the community, Dasaav might think about releasing an update for the Sinister Statue mod - I'd love to see the Sinister Statues mod pared up with the Seamless Co-op mod, how about you?
