As you embark on your Enshrouded quest, the sheer complexity of its various systems can be quite overwhelming. To offer you a helping hand, we've put together a walkthrough on extinguishing Flame Altars (spoiler alert, it probably isn't worth it).
As we said in our Enshrouded review, we are loving the game so far. But there is also a ton going on, and at times it becomes pretty confusing. Especially when it comes to Flame Altars, which are effectively your bases.
If you've misplaced a Flame Alter, then you may want to destroy it. To do so, you need to "Extinguish the Flame". Here is your guide on how to do this.

How Do You Extinguish A Flame Altar?
Approach the Flame Altar you want to destroy and interact with it, then select the third option "Extinguish Flame" and wait for the thirty-second countdown to finish.
Here is a step-by-step visual guide to explain extinguishing a Flame Altar in Enshrouded:
As you can see, you are given a 30-second cool-off window to undo your decision to Extinguish the Flame before it actually happens. Phew.
Will You Get Back Shroud Cores If You Extinguish Level 2+ Flame Altars?
No, you won't get back any of the materials you've put into a Flame Alter to upgrade it if you decide to extinguish the Flame (and it sucks because Shroud Cores aren't cheap). For this reason, we heavily recommend against destroying Flame Altars, unless you have reached your limit, and you can tell that one of your Altars has been poorly placed.
That was your guide to extinguishing Flame Altars. TL;DR don't extinguish Flame Altars unless you absolutely need to. We hope you found the guide helpful, good luck on your Enshrouded journey!
