#1: His Sinister Screen-Presence Dominates Every Scene
All you need to do is watch the official Anton Cinematic Trailer from E3 2021, and you will come to the same conclusion that I have – Anton Castillo is going to be the best villain to come to Far Cry. The sinister, creepy, but slightly humorous performance here is haunting. It's unnerving and uncomfortable, and a great setup for the character. The ruthlessness and brutality of this dictator is going to be riveting, and we can't wait to see how this story develops – and that's the first time we have said that about a Far Cry game since Far Cry 4...
#2: Anton Castillo is Played by Giancarlo Esposito
Anton Castillo is being portrayed by Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito – but this time, he ain't a chicken-shop owner. He's a dictator. A brutal, ruthless dictator. Esposito dominates everything he's in. He's a fantastic dramatic actor, with a penance for this kind of role. Gus in Breaking Bad is a great example: a man who is charismatic, and seems trustworthy, but is brutal, savage, and violent in the same breath. This is going to get crazy, and we can't wait to see how Giancarlo Esposito portrays Far Cry 6's incredible new villain.
#3: Anton Castillo is Probably Vaas's Father
Vaas is still widely considered the best Far Cry villain there has ever been, and one of the best video game villains of all time. If the rumors are true, and Anton Castillo is indeed Vaas's father, we will see how Far Cry 3's villain became the man we know. This is the key to a fantastic character, and the perfect way to up-the-ante on Vaas. Anton Castillo's character is going to have the same kind of viciousness and cruelty of Vaas, but this time he is a dictator, a man with a lot of power, with a chokehold on people's lives. When combined with the other points I have made, this will surely make Anton Castillo the best Far Cry villain we have ever seen.
