The Division is getting a free-to-play entry into the series! We don't know if the free-to-play version will be a spin-off or a sequel, but we do that it will be set in Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland.

At this point, Ubisoft has not revealed much info on the game, but the game will be called Heartland and is a standalone game that doesn't require you to have played any of the other games in the series.

What We Know About The Division Heartland

The Division Heartland Release Date

The Division Heartland is in development at Ubisoft's Red Storm studio and is expected to release in 2021 or 2022. Other than that, the developers haven't revealed much except for a tiny tidbit stating that it will "provide an all new perspective on the universe in a new setting." If you want to read more about the announcement you can do that on the official blog post:

The Division Heartland Gameplay

There is no information whatsoever on the gameplay. We also don't know if Heartland will be single player or multiplayer. If the game really wants to separate itself from the other entries in The Division, then a single player would certainly get the job done. Though with the fact that it's free to play and considering current trends, a Battle Royale seems likely, but honestly... we're tired of that. Give us something fresh here Ubisoft, make this thing pop.

What Platforms Will Heartland Release On?

The Division Heartland is confirmed to be released on consoles, PC and the cloud. Whether that's all consoles or every streaming service is not known. Mind you that Ubisoft has its own streaming service in Uplay – it's possible that the game will be a Uplay streaming-exclusive.

As for The Division Mobile – there is literally no information other than the fact that it's coming and information will be released "at a later date."
