Genshin Impact 4.0: Fans have found an interesting Easter egg, where a mysterious character can be found crying under a water fountain. Who might this character be, and why are they weeping?
Genshin Impact version 4.0 has arrived and with it, the entire region of Fontaine and its secrets. Why are people dessolving into water, what is the prophecy, and who is crying in Fontaine?
Genshin Impact: Who Is Crying In The Court Of Fontaine?
If you go to the fountain in front of the Opera Epiclese in the Court of Fontaine, put yourself right under, mute your music and sfx and put your Dialogue Volume on the highest setting, you can clearly hear someone crying.
Most fans speculate that it is Furina who is crying. She cries about the inevitability of something, her loneliness, maybe even wondering how long her loneliness is going to last? We aren't advanced enough in the Archon Quest to truly understand what she is trying to tell us, but there are theories about the development of the story.
Fontaine's Tragic Foretold Prophecy
A dooming prophecy lies over Fontaine, it tells the player outright that the people from the Hydro nation will one day see their civilization absorbed by the waters, where all life except for the Hydro Archon will drown for their sins, leaving Focalors weeping, alone on the throne.
No matter how many Trials the Justice Nation holds, they will still never get rid of their sins. This is especially interesting since the focus of the previous Archon wasn't Justice, but rather connecting everyone in the world, just as water is connected. Meaning, maybe all the Trials and her pursuit of Justice are her desperate attempts at saving her people? It would make sense for her to try to attempt going against fate, Focalors gives the impression of not really knowing what she's doing.
SPOILER FOR THE ARCHON QUEST: We have already seen a character dissolve into water, and know that memories can be stored inside of it. Some people in Fontaine even believe that the population actually came from the waters and will return there.
Nonetheless, it is a very cool little Easter Egg that makes us curious as to how the Fontaine Archon Quest will conclude.
