The total playtime for God of War Ragnarok was leaked by industry insiders, and... we like what we hear.
God of War Ragnarok will be around 40 hours long – that's according to industry insider Tom Henderson. But, much more than just the total runtime was revealed. We also know how many of those hours are cut-scenes, how long it will take to complete the main storyline, and more.
God of War Length Is 40 Hours
So 40 hours is quite something, but it should be noted that completing the main storyline is only going to take around 20 hours, and 3 and a half of those 20 hours will be you watching cinematics. Yup, that's a solid two feature-length films, which... I think is awesome. At the same time, I know that a lot of people don't like when games force them to sit down and watch, so this is not exactly great news for everyone. Then again... with just how cinematic God of War can get, I think everyone will enjoy those cut-scenes.
As for the remaining 20 hours, those are a rough estimate of how long it will take to do all sidequests, which will also feature an hour of cinematics. At 40 hours of total playtime, God of War Ragnarok will be slightly longer than the 2018 God of War, which, on average, was played for 33 hours.
