Rumors about a GTA San Andreas, GTA III and GTA Vice City remaster or remake have been super persistent and are not going to go anywhere until the games release. Now, an insider leaker claims he knows the games will be remade with the GTA 5 engine.
Let's cut right to it here: It all took place on the GTA Forums. The leaker in question is Mach1bud, and he claims that Rockstar will use the RAGE engine, which they used for GTA V, to remake GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas. He also claims that the cars in GTA Online are proof that Rockstar already has a "solid amount of the content" in place.
As these things go, readers were skeptical, saying that there is no way that all three of these games are being remade on the same engine, since years would pass in between. Smart concern, if you ask me. However, Mach1bud doubled down, saying that Rockstar has external support and that he even knows the remakes of the classic GTA titles will "[look] better than GTA V, but not as good as Red Dead Redemption 2."
Are the GTA III, Vice City & San Andreas Remaster Rumors True?
Oh, most definitely. We all know this is coming. We all know that Rockstar is planning remasters of their classics. The only real news here is that the games will be using the GTA 5 engine, which suggests that they will be releasing sooner than later.
