Finally: GTA 5 is getting a story expansion. The expansion will be added to GTA Online for free, and will include one of the main characters.
GTA 5 is the gift that keeps on giving – for better or for worse. Rockstar just announced a new story expansion for GTA 5, which, curiously, will be set in GTA Online. While story expansions within GTA Online are nothing new, there's never been one that included one of the main characters... until now.
GTA 5: Online Story Expansion with Franklin
The story will be called 'The Contract', and it will star Franklin. Here's the official description for the expansion:
In the years since he and his accomplices knocked over the Union Depository, renowned Los Santos hustler Franklin Clinton has been making moves of his own.
The expansion will be free, and it will be released on December 15. Story-wise, it will be all about building a celebrity agency for Franklin, which solves all its clients' problem. I'll let you guess what that problem-solving work entails.
Lamar will also make an appearance, as will Dr. Dre. Yes, that's right: Dr. Dre. Turns out that the music Dr. Dre was working on was not for GTA 6, but for good-ol' GTA 5. Dr. Dre will be one of your clients, and you'll be tasked with tracking down his phone. Sounds lame reading and writing it, but, knowing Rockstar, they're gonna deliver.
Apparently, the new story-mission will have many story-references, and can also be tackled with friends. Still, this is canon-story content for GTA 5, so, personally, I'm hyped that we're getting more story added to one of this generation's greatest game.
