If the leak is to be believed, the cryptocurrency basically confirms a modern setting for GTA 6. (Credit: wccftech)

GTA 6 is on every gamer's mind. Duh. Now we got another leak coming our way that just entirely goes against everything we thought we knew about the GTA 6 setting.

So, for the longest time everybody thought that GTA 6 was going to be set in the 80s. We were all so sure that the game was gonna have an aesthetic similar to Vice City and see us get our Escobar on. You know, polish up on some Spanish and grow a mustache that sports the ever-distinguished white powdered top bit. Because... you know... drugs...

Well, nuh-uh.

Thanks to a leaker (because who else), we now have reason to assume that GTA 6 will feature cryptocurrency. You know, bitcoin and that weird dog coin-thing and all that stuff. You ever hear of cypto in the 80s? Exactly.

Where Will GTA 6 Be Set?

If this cryptocurrency leak is anything to go by, it is safe to assume that GTA 6 will have a modern setting. Why do we even think this leak is anything worthy paying attention to? Because it comes our way via Tom Henderson, who is such a prolific leaker that we can trace 50% of our website's content back to him:

Tom Henderson claims that this info comes from someone he trusts. Naturally. Wouldn't make much sense for him to call his sources untrustworthy. For now, we're just happy to add another piece to a puzzle that doesn't get any less confusing. Oh, and here are some of the other pieces:

What Else Do We Know About GTA 6?

Since you're already here, might as well clue you in on some other facts:

  • GTA 6 set at internal release date for 2023
  • GTA VI will focus on single-player
  • GTA VI will not be released before the GTA V remaster, which is coming in November 2021

Talk about service. All you need at a glance. You're welcome.
