Rockstar's GTA V is alive and well eight years later thanks to its vibrant in-game world and continuous online updates that keep the content flowing. Despite that GTA 6 will be focusing on the single-player element.
GTA V released back in 2013 and to this day the game has sold over 140 million copies making it second only to Minecraft. The third most sold game is another title by Rockstar Games - Red Dead Redemption 2. You could say the studio is doing well, but that also means expectations for the GTA sequel are set high. Rockstar haven't been exactly vocal about GTA 6 and the community relies heavily on leaks and rumors. Just recently the potential map of GTA VI was revealed.

GTA VI Will Focus on Single-Player
The latest piece of information regarding GTA VIcomes not from data miners or leakers but from the Rockstar Games developers. In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Scott Butchard and Tarek Hamad revealed that GTA VI will be focusing on single-playerand multiplayer will probably come at a later point just like with GTA V.
I think going forward we’re going to inject more of that single-player element in there.
That's certainly good news but also a bit surprising considering the game was kept afloat by its huge online community. Single-player for the next iteration of GTA was never under question as even Two Take (Rockstar's parent company) CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that multiplayer isn't everything.
There was an argument just a couple of years ago, not around here, not in this shop, but in some of our competitors' offices, that single-player is dead, that it's all about multiplayer. We didn't believe that. I said specifically and publicly that we didn't believe that, our labels don't believe that.
